SFHA Development permit application - $200.00 fee

If you are doing work in the FEMA designated Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), you will be required, as part of the building permit, to also submit a SFHA Development permit application along with the required fee. 

Permits are required to ensure that proposed development projects meet the requirements of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and the City of Hilliard's floodplain management ordinance.

Engineering will review the application for compliance with City Code Chapter 1323 - Flood Damage Prevention

Accepted forms of payment: check or credit card
Permit fee must accompany application.

The City of Hilliard has (2) two types of right-of-way permits:

Excavation (Construction) - $100.00 fee
Occupancy (Minor Maintenance) - $50.00 fee 

Excavation Permits (Construction)

The excavation permit is needed when excavating within the right-of-way of any public street or alley.  The work covered by this permit includes excavations in street or alley pavement, sidewalk, or driveway, or the non-paved area with-in the right-of-way for any purpose whatsoever.

Occupancy Permits (Minor Maintenance)

The occupancy permit is needed when it is necessary to occupy the right-of-way of any public street of alley.  It is necessary to obtain occupancy when working on or in any roadway appurtenance, or when it is necessary to occupy and portion of public right-of-way for any other purpose including not limited to work on or in buildings or properties outside the right-of-way.

Special Duty Hilliard Police Officers:  Applicants are responsible for requesting, scheduling, and paying for the cost of the services of uniformed law enforcement officers.  more info →
