Through generous donations from local business and community members, our agency is able to provide K-9 units for our city.  Our K-9 Division is comprised of:

Officer Jim Large with his K-9 partner Oz
Officer Tony LaRosa with his K-9 partner Kane
Officer Dustin Kaiser with his K-9 partner Jawaak

Brought to the United States from France, these dogs are Belgian Malinois.  This breed of K-9 has a disciplined temperament and is typically quicker, smaller and more agile than similar breeds.  These characteristics make the Belgian Malinois a good choice for the type of duties for which our agency utilizes them.    Their main duties include building and area searches, evidence location, criminal apprehension and narcotic detection.  The K-9 handlers and their K-9s are trained by StormDog Tactical LLC, and certified by the State of Ohio.  These K-9 Units train continuously in order to keep them at their highest level of performance.
A special note of thanks goes out to all of those businesses and individuals who donated funding and provisions.  Support from the community has been fundamental in the continuing growth of the K-9 Unit and is deeply appreciated.  We are constantly looking for locations, commercial or residential, for new training venues.
