The Hilliard City Code Section 709.02 requires any residence or building located within the City that is equipped with an alarm system for the purpose of detecting and signaling the presence of an unauthorized intrusion or fire to obtain a permit.
Before a local alarm system or inter-connected alarm system is installed, the owner shall apply for a permit from the Chief of Police. The fee is $25.00 for a two year permit. The fee is waived on residential alarms for applicants who are 65 years of age or older who own the home and/or is the head of the household.
Failure to obtain a permit could result in the issuance of a citation and fine.
