Auditor of State Award with Distinction Presented to HilliardPosted September 26, 2017 in Administration
On Sept. 25, Dave Delande, Finance Director for the City of Hilliard, was presented the Auditor of State Award with Distinction at City Council. The award is the highest honor the Auditor of State’s office hands out to public entities. Only five percent of the 5,800 total government entities receive it.
The City of Hilliard received this award by filing timely reports that do not contain any findings for recovery, citations, deficiencies or questioned costs. The Finance Department’s role is vital in ensuring that taxpayer dollars are well cared for.
“Thank you to the Finance Department team for your dedication, not only regarding this award, but daily.” said Delande. “City Council, your fiscal awareness and compliance makes an enormous difference to our department. Finally, thank you Mayor Schonhardt for your expertise and assistance in anything finance related. We are fortunate to have you here to discuss any questions and ideas with.”
The City’s Finance Department has received the Award with Distinction the last four years in a row, which was also when Delande was appointed to Finance Director.
