City and Schools closing playgroundsPosted March 22, 2020 in Uncategorized
The City of Hilliard and Hilliard City School District support the order by Gov. Mike Dewine to close all public playgrounds in Ohio to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
While public parks and open outdoor recreation areas are excluded from Ohio’s “stay in place” order, playgrounds are being closed because of the ease with which the coronavirus can be transmitted via hard surfaces and the proximity groups of children would experience around such equipment.
Fortunately, there are many other options available for outdoor exercise, including parks, green spaces, and exercise trails. Staying active during the stay in place order is an important way to reduce stress, stay healthy and avoid cabin fever.
The City of Hilliard and Hilliard City School District encourage you to continue to find ways to get outside while observing “social distancing.”
