City Council Offers Multiple Options for Public Comment

Posted July 7, 2020 in City Council by Mary Smith

Hilliard City Council encourages public comments and participation during its meetings. Public input is important to us, so we are working to provide as many options as possible for comments and questions. Because City Council cannot hold its standard public meetings due to state social distancing requirements, the public may comment and ask questions about items on the agenda in the following ways:

Prior to the meeting: The public may email Comments and questions will be provided to City Council in advance and included in the formal minutes of the meeting.

In person: The public may ask questions and comment in person at City Hall during the public comments portion of the agenda and during second readings of ordinances. To participate in person, please be at City Hall by 7 p.m. and sign in at the front lobby. Speakers will be called into Council Chambers one person at a time during public participation. Speakers must wear a mask while in City Hall.

Facebook: We will stream the Council meeting live on Facebook. Those wishing to ask questions relevant to items on the agenda must provide their name and address, just as they would at in-person meetings. Relevant questions will be asked at the appropriate time during the agenda. Comments will not be read during the meeting, but will be included in the formal minutes of the meeting.
