Construction of the City’s newest roundabouts within the Cosgray Extension is entering its final phases, requiring a temporary road closure at Cosgray Road.
Beginning Monday, Sept. 16, Cosgray Road will be closed at Scioto Darby Road to construct the northern leg of the roundabout. This closure is expected to last about three weeks.
Eastbound and westbound traffic on Scioto Darby Road will continue, but drivers will not be able to turn to or from Cosgray Road.
Access to the Darby Town center remains open at both Cosgray and Scioto Darby entrances; however, cut-through traffic is prohibited.
The detour is Hayden Run Road to Leppert Road to Scioto Darby Road.
When completed later this fall, this project will include a new crosswalk with flashing beacons to access the Darby Town center businesses, raised crosswalks to slow speeds and increase pedestrian safety, and connection to more than two miles of new trails built within The Well campus.
Landscaping and stormwater management solutions will be added, as well as street lighting, shared-use paths, fiber conduit, and enhanced sidewalk and trail connections to adjacent neighborhoods.
The Cosgray Road extension will provide access to the new Hilliard Recreation and Wellness Campus, The Well. The facility is expected to open in summer 2025.
