Council Seeking Applicants For Aging-in-Place CommitteePosted March 16, 2022 in Uncategorized
Hilliard City Council is seeking applicants for a new advisory committee that will focus on the needs of our community’s older adult residents and their caregivers.
The committee was created by a unanimous vote of City Council on March 14. In addition to nine residents, one Council Member will serve on the committee.
Council will accept applications for the Aging-In-Place Advisory Committee until 5 p.m. Friday, April 15. To apply, please submit a resume and letter of interest to the Clerk of Council at CouncilClerk1@HilliardOhio.gov.
The committee will advise City Council on matters affecting older adults ages 55 and older in Hilliard and their caregivers. Its goal is to help create an age-friendly community, focusing on topics that include community development, programming, and services. Members must be Hilliard residents ages 55 or older. Eventually, all members will serve two-year terms, but during the formation of the committee terms will be staggered, so for the initial nine members three will serve three-year terms, three will serve two-year terms, and three will serve one-year tems.
The committee will meet on dates and times it deems necessary to fulfill its purpose.
“This committee will advise City Council on matters affecting older adult residents and focus on creating an age-friendly community where residents of every age can enjoy the Hilliard community,” said City Manager Michelle Crandall.
