Council Seeks Applicants For P&Z, BZA

Hilliard City Council is seeking to fill positions on the Planning and Zoning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals.

Applications for both boards are due by Nov. 5.

P&Z

Candidates shall be qualified electors of the City of Hilliard and should have professional experience in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, planning, urban design, engineering, geography, law, real estate or related fields.

This is a four (4) year term.

Planning and Zoning meets on the second Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. The commission is composed of seven Hilliard citizens. P&Z advises on land use, planning issues, and proposed zoning code amendments. It also reviews zoning requests, conditional use requests, plats, development plans, and requests for sign variances.

Resumes and a letter of interest must be sent to Diane Werbrich, Clerk of Council, 3800 Municipal Way, Hilliard OH 43026 or emailed to dwerbrich@hilliardohio.gov prior to the close of business on Nov. 5.

BZA

Candidates shall be qualified electors of the City of Hilliard and should have professional experience in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, planning, urban design, engineering, geography, law, real estate or related fields.

This is a five (5) year term.

The Board of Zoning Appeals consists of seven members who serve five-year City Council appointments. The board rules on variances to the City’s zoning code, such as setbacks for decks and fences.

BZA meets monthly meetings at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month at the Municipal Building, 3800 Municipal Way.
