Hilliard City Council is accepting applications for open positions on the Planning and Zoning Commission, the newly created Personnel Review Board, and the Big Darby Accord Panel. The appointments begin in early 2020. All appointments are made by City Council.
Prospective applicants must submit a resume and letter of interest by Jan. 17 to Lynne Fasone, Clerk of Council, via email or at 3800 Municipal Way, Hilliard, OH 43026. Candidates may be contacted to interview with members of City Council. Current members are eligible for reappointment.
Planning and Zoning Commission (three expiring seats): P&Z consists of seven members, all of whom must be qualified electors of the City. Terms are four years. P&Z advises on land use, planning issues and proposed zoning code amendments. It also reviews zoning requests, conditional use requests, plats, development plans and requests for sign variances. P&Z meets the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Hilliard Municipal Building (3800 Municipal Way). Members holding expiring seats are Brett Bergefurd, Scott Movshin and Don Schonhardt.
Personnel Review Board (three members): This new board will hear appeals by City employees from administrative determinations made pursuant to the Code of Personnel Practices and Procedures and may have such other powers and duties as may from time to time be given to it by Council. There are no current members.
Big Darby Accord Panel: This representative to the accord panel represents the City’s interests in developing a multi-jurisdictional plan to preserve and protect the Big Darby Creek and its tributaries. This is a three-year term.
