Doggie Dippin’ Returns Sept. 6

Posted August 18, 2022 in Recreation & Parks by Anna Subler

The dog days of summer bring the hottest days of the year. In Hilliard, we embrace the heat with the annual “Doggie Dippin’” event! This fun event allows pups big and small to enjoy swimming in a City pool before it’s cleaned and drained for the season.

Doggie Dippin’ is open to well-behaved dogs who enjoy getting wet and playing with their canine buddies. Because the pool will not be treated with chemicals for the safety of the dogs, humans are not allowed in the water.

“This is always a fun event to end the summer on,” said Beth Simon, Program Manager. “The dog owners and spectators have as much fun as their pets! Most dogs run around like crazy – some never even get in the water – but they still love hanging out with the other dogs.”

Doggie Dippin’ will be held at Clyde “Butch” Seidle Community Pool, 4450 Schirtzinger Road, on Tuesday, Sept. 6, from 5-6:45 p.m. Large dogs (over 40 pounds) can swim from 5-5:45 p.m. and small dogs (less than 40 pounds) from 6-6:45 p.m.

Cost for this event is $5 per dog.
