Operations workers repairing the trail

Heritage Rail Trail Pavement Improvements Underway

Posted August 30, 2022 in Recreation & Parks by Anna Subler

Sections of the Heritage Rail Trail within the City of Hilliard have received some improvements over the last few weeks.

City crews have made pavement repairs that are intended to make the trail smoother for all riders and pedestrians.

“The trail had some sections with large cracks and tree root lift,” said Operations Administrator Dave Judson. “This work will make the trail safer for everyone who uses it.”

Repairs are expected to be finished by the end of the week.

The City plans to continue improvements this fall, with landscaping and brush trimming scheduled in November.

The Heritage Rail Trail is a 6.1-mile paved trail that connects Downtown Hilliard to Plain City.
