Hilliard Announces 2020 Fourth of July EventsPosted June 11, 2020 in Community Alert
Be on the lookout for the Red, White, and Blue Express to steam through Hilliard neighborhoods in the week leading up to Independence Day!
The Express will be a patriotic pop-up parade coming to Hilliard neighborhoods each night from June 29 through July 2! The Red, White, and Blue Express will include Hilliard Division of Police cars, Norwich Fire Department trucks, City of Hilliard vehicles, and more. To help you know when the Express will be on your block, the City will “live stream” the GPS location of the Express each evening on Facebook!
Additional information, including times and routes, will be announced on the City’s website and social media pages closer to July 4.
The Red, White, and Blue Express is just one of several neighborhood-oriented activities planned for this year’s Independence Day week. Other activities will include front-yard cookouts, home and business patriotic art contest, shared recipes, and a special radio performance by a Hilliard celebrity.
“We will still find ways in our community to celebrate July 4 with family and friends,” said Hilliard City Manager Michelle Crandall. “We’ve worked to create a few opportunities for our community to celebrate American independence at a time when we cannot safely hold large public gatherings.”
Front Yard Food with Friends on the Fourth
Gather your family and friends for a July 4 celebration in your own front yard! You will be in great company as neighbors near and far join you for this citywide cookout. Grilling and picnicking in the front yard ensure you will see and “celebrate” with your entire neighborhood and community.Be sure to tune in to T-100 radio (100.3) at 8 p.m. July for a special broadcast of the National Anthem by Leo Welsh, Hilliard resident and Columbus Blue Jackets Anthem Singer!
