Hilliard Announces Summer 2021 Events

From fireworks to summer concerts and movies outdoors, the City of Hilliard is pleased to announce, “Summer in the City,” its 2021 events schedule.

Hilliard has planned a COVID-safe summer by following the guidance from the State of Ohio, Ohio Department of Health, Franklin County Public Health, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“The City is thrilled to be getting back to some normalcy with the Summer in the City series,” said Parks and Recreation Director Ed Merritt. “It was important for us to find safe ways for the community to connect with friends and family.”

The summer will kick off with “Wheels and Waffles,” a celebration for National Bike Month with to-go waffles from Coffee Connections, live music, candy, a craft home and meet-and-greets with Hilliard first responders.

The excitement continues at Hilliard’s Station Park with the popular Thursday evening “Celebration at the Station” concerts and Saturday morning “Motivation at the Station” exercise classes with Mat Happy Yoga and SHED Fitness.

On Saturday, July 3, the City will bring back its annual Independence Day celebration, “Freedom Fest,” with live music, food, and fireworks.

“Get the Scoop,” “Sprouts Night Out,” “Friday Flicks,” and the fishing derby are some of the other family friendly events planned for the summer.

Event attendees should plan ahead before attending any event by registering in advance (when appropriate). Masks are recommended and attendees will be required to practice social distancing. As recommendations change, the City will continue to review operating procedures and update operations to reflect current laws and guidelines.
