Hilliard City Council to fill vacant seats on Environmental Sustainability Commission

Hilliard City Council seeks to fill two vacant seats on the City’s Environmental Sustainability Commission (ESC).

Candidates must reside in the City of Hilliard and/or the Hilliard School District.

Qualifications include: education, energy, civil construction/engineering, green building, landscape design, environmental engineering, transit, consulting, law, recycling/solid waste, air and water quality, and environmental health.

Generally, the purpose of the ESC is to advise City Council, the City Manager, and City officials on the following mission: “The Environmental Sustainability Commission shall review existing green policies and advise City Council, the City Manager, and city officials in the initiation and/or development of programs that will create or enhance sustainable practices within our community.”

The ESC meets at 5:45 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the Municipal Building, 3800 Municipal Way, Hilliard. Meetings may also be held virtually, as needed.

Candidates interested in applying for a vacant seat shall submit a letter of interest and resume to Kristen Hosni, Chair of the ESC, by Aug. 30, 2020 at the close of business at khosni@hilliardohio.gov

The letter of interest shall state which term you are most interested in filling:

  1. Term expiring May 13, 2021; or
  2. The full two-year term (i.e. expiring two years from the date of appointment to the ESC).

The purpose of ESC is more fully outlined in the Hilliard City Code, Chapter 149.04.
