Hilliard Hires Economic Development Director

Mayor Don Schonhardt is pleased to announce the hiring of David Meadows to fill the position of Economic Development Director. Meadows comes to Hilliard from the role of Economic Development Coordinator with the City of Westerville, Ohio. He previously served with the State of Ohio Development Services Agency, as an Energy Program Developer.

“We believe we have found an excellent addition to the City’s management team in David, whose expertise in business retention & expansion and community development will benefit Hilliard greatly,” said Mayor Don Schonhardt. “David is excited about coming to Hilliard and welcomes the opportunity to meet with business owners, community leaders, and all other interested parties as soon as possible.” Meadows’ many strengths include structuring and negotiating business proposals, administering Community Reinvestment Area agreements, identifying real estate opportunities for companies considering relocation and facilitating partnerships between civic groups and public service agencies.

A native of Lodi, Ohio, Meadows received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from The Ohio State University and a Master’s of Public Administration degree from John Glenn College of Public Affairs at Ohio State.

David proudly served the United States for 8 years while serving as a sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005 serving in the 983rd Engineer Battalion.

Meadows will begin his employment with Hilliard on April 3, 2017. He replaces Hilliard’s long-serving Economic Development Director David Meeks who retired this past September.
