Do you have a New Year’s resolution? Maybe it’s to make new friends, try something “out of the box” or get more involved in your community. We’ve got an opportunity for you.

Registration is now open for our 10th Citizens Police Academy, which begins Feb. 13. The program is a 14-week course that teaches students all about the operations of our police department. And, it’s completely free!

As a student, you will learn from how to conduct a traffic stop, to how to investigate a crash, collect evidence and even how to operate a speed radar gun. Students will also learn about a day in the life of our partners at the Norwich Township Fire Department.

The best part? We provide dinner every week! Thanks to our generous sponsors, of course.

Class takes place every Tuesday from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Joint Safety Services Building, 5171 Northwest Parkway, Hilliard. Students must be at least 18 years of age and live or work in the City of Hilliard, Norwich Township or Hilliard City School district.

Are you interested in joining the next class? Download the application from our website today (email to PoliceInfo@HilliardOhio.gov or mail/drop off to the police station) and send it in!

We’ll see you Feb. 13.
