Hilliard’s Environmental Sustainability Commission has partnered with Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO) to host a polystyrene (Styrofoam) recycling event. Don’t throw out your polystyrene after the holidays, bring it to the Hilliard Municipal Building, 3800 Municipal Way, on Thursday, Dec. 30, 10 a.m. – noon to be recycled! Just follow the signs, drive up to the pole barn near City Hall, and someone will even unload your car!

Please remember the following:

  • Remove tape, paper, and any other contaminants from the packaging.
  • No food-grade polystyrene is allowed. This includes meat packaging, cups, plates, egg cartons, etc., unless it is brand new and has never contacted any food or beverage.
  • Keep polystyrene peanuts in a sealed plastic bag. They will blow away if they are not confined.
