Intersection Closure: Scioto Darby at Main St. undergoing night work this week

Posted July 6, 2021 in Streets and Public Service by Chase Evans

Improvements will continue on the Scioto Darby Road and Main Street roundabout this week, which will result in full-intersection closures at night for milling, paving, and striping.

The schedule for the night closures on Scioto Darby Road at Main Street will be:

  • Tuesday, July 6, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Friday, July 9, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Sunday, July 11, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The image below details accessible detour routes during these closures.

The final phase of this project will include night work the week of July 12-16 for the addition of raised crosswalks similar to those at Cemetery Road and Main Street. Details on the final phase will be announced next week.

The initial phase of construction on the central island was recently completed, promoting safer driving and reduced speeds at the roundabout. The project also included median work on Main Street at Ten Pin Alley and Wakefield Drive, which installed high-visibility crosswalks, flashing warning lights, and pedestrian refuge islands.
