Mosquito Spraying Planned in east Hilliard, Norwich Township

Posted June 26, 2019 in Administration by David Ball

In order to reduce the adult mosquito population, mosquito spraying is set for Hilliard East and part of Norwich Township on Thursday, June 27, beginning at 9 p.m. (weather permitting).

This spraying is planned due to the number of nuisance/floodwater mosquitoes caught in light traps. These are not the type of mosquitoes that carry West Nile Virus.

Franklin County Public Health will be spraying the area, which includes the areas of Norwich Township and Hilliard inside of 270. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me

Spray maps are available on the FCPH website.

Franklin County Public Health handles mosquito spraying for the City of Hilliard. The agency recommends you take these steps to help protect your family from risk of mosquitos:

Wear insect repellant containing DEET (follow package directions).
Limit outdoor activity at dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are most active.
Eliminate all standing water around your home (mosquitoes breed in water and it doesn’t take much time).
