The Hilliard Division of Police will once again host the community for the annual National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 6.

This year, the event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hayden Run Village Park, located at the corner of Avery and Davidson roads.

Hilliard police officers will be on hand for various activities, including cornhole games and registration for the agency’s free fingerprinting system: EZ Child ID. Police cruisers, a police K9 and motorcycle unit will also be on display. Bicycles and other fun prizes will be raffled.

Norwich Township Fire Department will also be providing a bounce house and a special visit from “Sparky.”

“This is an event we look forward to hosting each year,” said Police Chief Robert Fisher. “It’s a great opportunity for community engagement and supports our philosophy of community-oriented policing.”

National Night Out, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, as well as encourage community and police interaction.

The event would not be possible without its sponsors, which includes Target and BMW Financial Services.
