Sports Commission seeking feedback on recommendationsPosted June 20, 2019 in Commissions & Committees
Hilliard Sports Commission is seeking feedback about recommendations for the future of community sports. The commission is inviting representatives of area youth and adult athletics organizations to learn more and offer feedback at two upcoming meetings.
The two-hour meetings will be at Hilliard Davidson High School Media Center at 6 p.m. June 26 and July 16. The meetings will include presentations from HSC about its recommendations.
In April, HSC met with City Council as a whole in a work session to review a series of recommendations covering a variety of topics. At the end of the meeting, City Council approved two recommendations, which included the formation of a single-point sports coordination organization (Hilliard Area Sports Council) within the City of Hilliard Recreation and Parks Department.
The HASC would include representatives of the City, Hilliard City Schools, and select local recognized youth organizations.
Responsibilities of the sports council could include acting as a single-point coordinator for all sports organizations in Hilliard for fields, scheduling, establishing usage priorities, and other functions. Complete details about the commission’s work, including access to a video of the April presentation to Council and an online feedback form, can be found at https://hilliardohio.gov/sports-commission/
