The City of Hilliard Launches New Online Community Engagement Platform, Talk2Us

Are you ready to Talk2Us, Hilliard? We’re here to listen!

The City of Hilliard has launched a new online community engagement platform, “Talk2Us, Hilliard!,” at Talk2Us.hilliardohio.gov. The new online community engagement tool makes it easy to give input and feedback to City Council and staff.

Projects that were included at the launch of “Talk2Us Hilliard!” include the Cemetery Road Corridor Study, Beggar’s Night in light of COVID-19, and what kinds of future programs and activities residents would like to see from our Recreation and Parks Department. The site also will allow residents to comment in advance on upcoming legislation being consider by City Council and cases that will come before Planning and Zoning Commission.

“This site is designed for one purpose: To help the City connect with its community,” said David Ball, Director of Communications. “The City of Hilliard wants to hear residents’ thoughts about upcoming projects, developments, and programs. We want their opinions about big topics and small. And we want to give the community a platform to share ideas online, 24/7, whenever it’s convenient.”

The site provides a variety of ways for residents to share their ideas, including open forums, mapping tools, the ability to share photos, and sign-ups for updates on specific projects.

“We anticipate this site will be used for big projects, like the update of the Community Plan, as well as lighter topics, such as how residents feel we’re doing on snow removal or bringing large potholes to our attention,” Ball said.

Registration is not needed to see content on the site but is required to participate in conversations and provide feedback.

“City Council and the administration believe strongly in the importance of an informed and engaged community, and ‘Talk2Us Hilliard!’ is yet another tool to ensure residents’ are heard,” Ball said. “We know it’s not always convenient for people to come to public meetings to express their views. This tool allows for that type of engagement from the convenience of your home, work, or even the beach!”
