The City’s partnership with Converge Technologies has laid the foundation for the growth and commercialization of new technologies in a cost-effective manner. Companies within the incubator can validate their technology for and leverage innovation grants offered by Hilliard Development Corporation.
Innovation Grant
The Hilliard Development Corporation (HDC) Innovation Grant Program grows research and development (R&D) investment and high-wage job creation within the City of Hilliard. Grant funding must be used to acquire equipment associated with the development, as well as the demonstration and/or commercialization of emerging technologies.
Since 2021, Hilliard has awarded $1.2 million in Innovation Grants for 43 economic development and City Lab projects. These projects support more than 1,100 jobs and $87 million in private investment.
Through the Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer programs, America’s Seed Fund awards non-dilutive funding to develop your technology and chart a path toward commercialization. The federal government invests in your solution and gives you the freedom to run your business according to your vision. City of Hilliard staff can work with your business to help acquire this type of funding.
