Hilliard was one of seven communities – and one of only two in the United States – to receive this honor for 2024 from the Intelligent Community Forum. The program recognizes communities that demonstrate best practices in broadband connectivity, workforce development, digital inclusion, innovation, community engagement, and sustainability.

The reason we looked at Hilliard is because it's a growing community with a great family environment. People here support their businesses and there's so many great local events. We would choose Hilliard again in a heartbeat. There's so many more opportunities here and we're still seeing growth. We like to think we were on the front end of it and there's going to be a lot more to come.

The City of Hilliard has done a phenomenal job of creating this plan where you have that small town feel but also of these amazing amenities, along with growth and revenue. Our coffee shop has grown by leaps and bounds in the last five years and the City's plan for economic growth has a lot to do with the number of people walking through our door every day.

After living and working in Hilliard for many years, I've learned that there's all kinds of opportunities here. Hilliard has an industrial base, if we need materials like sheet metal, injection molding, or board assembly, we can go right down the street to a number of facilities. So I found Hilliard is a great place to grow a business. When the community from a public standpoint and organizations from a private standpoint work together it's a win-win situation and we found that with Hilliard. The City of Hilliard's outreach, coordination, and patience has made for a great working relationship.
