Hilliard operates two seasonal outdoor municipal pools: the Hilliard Family Aquatic Center (HFAC) and the Clyde “Butch” Seidle Community Pool. In addition to providing a safe space for families to play and spend time together, the municipal pools also organize swimming lessons and events for community members of all ages. Both facilities are currently open to the public.
The first day of the 2024 pool season is Saturday, May 25, 2024. Lifeguard staff availability is reduced significantly Tuesday, May 28, 2024 through Friday, May 31, 2024 due to the 2023-24 school year for Hilliard City Schools. Certain areas and amenities may be unavailable. Our number one priority is safety and having the required number of lifeguards necessary for us to operate.
Please note that to ensure we have sufficient staff to keep our patrons safe the last day for the Hilliard Family Aquatic Center to remain open is Aug. 20. The Clyde “Butch” Siedle Community Pool will remain open through Labor Day.
The main pool is always available when the facility is open, but some amenities at HFAC may be unavailable. We reserve the right to close one or more pools, specific amenities, or facilities if the need arises due to staffing, programming, or weather. The purchase of a pool membership or daily admission is for use of the main pool at both facilities.
Our number one priority is safety and having the required number of lifeguards necessary for us to operate.
Please Note: All non-member guests must register for a visitor pass to gain entry. Patrons 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult 18+. Patrons aged 14 to 17 that wish to come unsupervised must complete a “Minor Rules and Use Agreement form,” valid on file for two years.
Pool members must have a photo taken at the Community Center.
For increased patron safety, a visitor pass associated with a RecTrac account is required for entry to any pool facility. All patrons 3 years and older must have a valid visitor pass or pool membership for entry, and any visitors or members under the age of 18 must be registered under an adult (18+). All visitor accounts require an adult (18+) as a responsible party on the account.
Account registration can be done online or at the Hilliard Community Center and must be done prior to visiting the pool. Online account registration may take up to three business days for activation. Once an account has been registered, day pass key fobs are provided to each household member at no cost. All subsequent replacement key fobs are $5 each.
Visitors must present their visitor key fob to enter the facility. Children 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult 18+ in addition to their visitor pass. Children ages 14-17 may gain admission without an adult so long as they have a valid visitor pass and have completed the required agreement on file.
Aquatic Staff have the authority to prohibit behavior they deem unsafe or inappropriate not explicitly listed below. Aquatic staff have the authority to enforce all rules and regulations. Aquatic Staff have the authority to remove anyone from the facility due to unsafe or inappropriate behavior. Failure to comply with Aquatic Staff orders is grounds for immediate facility removal.
Approved toys are squishy, cloth-style balls designed specifically for pool use. Beach balls smaller than 24 inches in diameter also are permitted. Diving rings and diving sticks may be used if they are dropped rather than thrown. Examples of acceptable toys will be on display at both pools.
Pool staff will not allow Nerf balls, footballs and other sports balls, Frisbee-style discs, and other toys not specifically designed for pool use.
The “gutterball” game also is prohibited for the safety of all of our swimmers.
Patrons are encouraged to check with pool staff before taking toys into the water.
In addition, patrons at the Clyde “Butch” Seidle Community Pool may play catch or participate in similar activities in the grassy area to the north of the pool, provided their activities do not pose a risk of injury to other patrons.
We offer some great food and beverage options at our pool concession stands, but we also know some folks want to bring their own snacks to enjoy.
Guests are welcome to bring in outside food and beverages in coolers, but for the safety and cleanliness of our facilities there are a few rules we ask families to follow.
Providing all of our guests with sanitary water is of utmost importance. Help us maintain water quality by following these guidelines:
Franklin County Board of Health sanitation regulations require all persons to wear a bathing suit with a hygienic liner while swimming. Clothing is only permitted on top of a bathing suit. Athletic shorts are not considered a swimsuit. If you are not wearing a bathing suit, you will be asked to exit the facility.
Rain checks are issued in the event that you have paid the daily admission and are asked to leave due to lack of proper attire. Swim diapers are required for all individuals not toilet trained and can be purchased in the pool office.
We thank you for your cooperation as we strive to keep our swimming pools as safe and sanitary as possible.
Our number one concern is the safety and well-being of all of our guests. Daycares, day camps, and large groups frequently bring children to our outdoor pool facilities. Additional supervision of these children is imperative.
Please ensure you meet the required adult/child ratio before coming to the pool to avoid disappointment of group members. Children ages 4 years and younger, and all children wearing a flotation device, must be within arm’s reach of an adult at least 18 years or older in the water. The responsible adult must be in a swimsuit at all times.
Usage by groups requires one adult supervisor for every two children ages 4 years and younger/wearing a flotation device. Children ages 5-9 years must be visually supervised by an adult at least 18 years or older at all times. Usage by groups requires one adult supervisor to every five children ages 5-9 years. Children ages 10 and older may swim without an adult supervisor if they have adequate swimming skills All daycare centers and camps must sign a GroupDayCare_Agreement_Form. Contact us with questions.
The Hilliard Recreation and Parks department considers the safety of patrons, staff, and program participants our highest priority. In the event of inclement weather, the City of Hilliard reserves the right to close one or both pools.
Please contact us with questions regarding this policy.
