Building Sustainable Solutions

Hilliard is a community of real people and real possibilities, especially when it comes to green initiatives. Building sustainable solutions that consider the environment is a priority, and we’ve got the results to prove it.

Within the last three years, the City of Hilliard has implemented multiple recycling and composting initiatives, including Styrofoam, political signs, pumpkins, and electronics.

In 2022, voters gave the City the authority to develop and implement an electric aggregation program, in which residents and businesses will have the option of buying their electricity from sustainably sourced methods. The City of Hilliard is also restoring and preserving green spaces and wetlands, such as work that is underway at Clover Groff Run stream as part of the future development of the Hilliard Wellness and Recreation Center.

Go Green Hilliard

Hilliard’s Environmental Sustainability Commission, Go Green Hilliard, engages the Hilliard community and provides resources to residents and businesses in their efforts to reduce waste, conserve resources, and protect the environment.
