Senior Center

Whether chatting with friends, playing a game of pickleball or attending a fitness class, the Phyllis A. Ernst Senior Center offers opportunities for active Hilliard agers 55 and up.

An annual fee of just $15 gives members access to special events, educational speakers, exciting trips and regular activities including fitness and sports, arts and crafts, cards and home-style lunch. Members also get free income tax preparation from AARP, health checks, and screenings.

Membership is free for those age 90 and up.

You can register online or download the form and bring it in. To register online, click the button ONLINE REGISTRATION and scroll to the bottom of the page. At the bottom there is an option for SENIOR CENTER MEMBERSHIP. Click the plus sign beside it, then click ADD TO CART. You will the be prompted to login in. If you haven’t registered before, you can sign up for a new account. Once you’ve logged in, you’ll be taken to your cart and can proceed to check out. Senior Center Hall of Fame

Honored for a lifetime of service, personal achievement and a positive image of aging, one or two senior citizens are inducted to the Hilliard Senior Citizen Hall of Fame each year. Nominees may be living or deceased and should exemplify how senior citizens contribute to their communities and respond creatively to retirement.

Hilliard Park Cafe

On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, the Hilliard Park Café offers home-style lunches. The cost of lunch is $5 for members and $7 for non-members. Reservations are required; please call (614) 876-0747 one day in advance by 4 p.m.

Special meals are also served through the month including prayer luncheons, Happiness Club, fireman’s luncheon, themed lunches and lunch & learn.

The senior center can provide information about independent living facilities, residential care, nursing, rehabilitation and contact information for local and national resources.

Hilliard Happiness Club

The Hilliard Happiness Club works with the senior center to organize community events and also helps support the senior center with annual fundraising events. The Happiness Club has raised thousands of dollars since its inception and all funds raised benefit the senior center and its participants.
