Annual Events

Every year Hilliard hosts a variety of diverse events that bring our community together and enhance quality of life. From our huge Independence Day Freedom Fest celebration to the annual holiday Tree Lighting, our City-sponsored events offer something for the whole family!
9/11 REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY The community is invited to join Hilliard Division of Police and Norwich Township Fire each Sept. 11 at First Responders Park as we remember the 9/11 terrorist attacks that claimed nearly 3,000 lives in New York; Washington, D.C.; and Pennsylvania.
AUTISM AWARENESS DAY April is Autism Awareness Month, and Hilliard Division of Police opens its doors to our autistic residents and their families. It's an educational day filled with celebration.
CELEBRATION AT THE STATION Celebration at the Station summer concert series runs June through August every Thursday evening. All concerts feature live bands from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Dine at one of the food trucks or Old Hilliard restaurants. Adults 21+ can enjoy adult beverages outdoors in the designated outdoor refreshment area. Bands interested in performing at this event should fill out a band application.
COFFEE WITH A COP No agendas. No presentations. No speeches. Just casual conversation. Join HPD for a cup of morning Joe several times a year at various local establishments. This is your chance to ask questions, voice concerns and get to know the law enforcement in Hilliard — one cup of coffee at a time. Dates and locations are advertised on our calendar of events.
EARTH DAY Join the City of Hilliard and the Environmental Sustainability Commission for Earth Day every April at the Community Center, 3800 Veterans Memorial Drive. Enjoy activities for kids and opportunities to learn about composting, the importance of bees to our environment, energy efficiency, conservation and more. During the event, there are three collections going on: Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Community Computer Alliance Technology, and Styrofoam.
FALL FESTIVAL Fall Festival welcomes the change of season with family fun! With food trucks, games and crafts, pumpkin picking, pony rides, and even a hayride, it's an event that's fun for all ages!
FREEDOM FEST Independence Day is an all day-celebration in Hilliard. We kick off festivities with parade, followed by Freedom Fest at Municipal Park. With live music, food trucks, and games for kids and adults, we spend the day celebrating the USA. We cap the night off with a spectacular fireworks show.
LAW ENFORCEMENT TORCH RUN FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS Every June, Hilliard police participate in this run, which garners awareness and raises money for Special Olympics of Ohio. The run begins at Kroger on Cemetery Road and finishes at First Responders Park.
MOTIVATION AT THE STATION Motivation at the Station runs from June through August. Work out and have fun on Saturday mornings in the summer with our yoga and fitness series. Featuring local instructors, this event is great for your body and mind. Free classes start at 8 a.m. and are 50 minutes long.
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT Every August, Hilliard Division of Police hosts the community for National Night Out, sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. The event heightens awareness of crime and drug prevention, as well as encourages community and police interaction.
OLD HILLIARD FEST Celebrating Hilliard, the annual event features vendors, food trucks, crafts, and live music. It's a day of fun held on the second Saturday of September.
POLICE MEMORIAL CEREMONY Each spring, the City of Hilliard holds a Peace Officers Memorial Day service at First Responders Park to honor all Ohio police officers killed in the line of duty. The event is now held May 19. It is especially poignant as it marks the anniversary of the loss of Hilliard Officer Sean Johnson, whose end of watch occurred on May 19, 2016. Officer Johnson was the first Hilliard officer killed in the line of duty since the department's creation in 1957. The public is encouraged to come pay their respects during this free event at First Responders Park.
PRESCRIPTION PILL DRUG TAKE BACK DAY Hilliard Division of Police joins other communities every October for the Drug Enforcement Agency's National Drug Take Back Day. Residents can use a simple drive-thru service at the police department, 5171 Northwest Boulevard, to drop off their unwanted or expired medication in pill form. It’s typically held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on a Saturday.
SPROUTS NIGHT OUT A summer event that happens in June and July. Families can come and enjoy a fun night for the whole family. With live music, kids activities, and food trucks, it's an unforgettable evening! Event runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
TREE LIGHTING Join us the first Sunday of December to ring in the holiday season! There are fun seasonal activities for kids, carolers, local events benefiting charities, and Santa makes an appearance for all the kids. The highlight of the event is the lighting of the City's tree.
