Pack your sports bags; the Hilliard Athletic Complex is ready to host game play!
Help celebrate with a grand opening celebration on April 9, from 6-7 p.m. at the turf fields.
While the fields will already have been open to recreational sports teams for a few weeks, this ceremonial event will officially open the fields and mark a significant step on the road to recreation currently in the works on the wellness campus.
The Hilliard Athletic Complex is part of a larger recreation and wellness initiative that was long envisioned by City officials. In 2021, with the passage of Issue 22, the community gave its support to the project and construction on the campus began in 2023.
Today, the athletic complex portion of the campus boasts twenty new grass fields, two state-of-the-art turf fields, lighting that allows for extended game play past sunset, and more than three miles of multipurpose paths around the complex.
When the full recreation and wellness project finishes construction, the campus will be home to the Hilliard Athletic Complex, the new Norwich Township Fire Station, and The Well, Hilliard’s groundbreaking recreation and wellness facility.
