Alton & Darby Creek to close July 8 for roundabout improvements

Road Closure Alert

It’s time to pave the path to The Well!

Construction is scheduled to continue during the coming months on three new roundabouts as part of the Cosgray Road extension, which will provide access to the new Hilliard Recreation and Wellness Campus.

Beginning July 8, Alton Darby Creek Road will be closed for about three weeks just south of Davis Road and north of Heritage Lakes Drive to complete the installation of a single-lane roundabout.

The new roundabout will connect with an entrance to The Well’s campus and serve as access to Norwich Township Fire Department’s fourth fire station, which will begin construction this year.

The roadway is expected to reopen the week of July 29.

The detour is Scioto Darby Creek Road, Main Street/Hilliard Rome Road, to Roberts Road.

The City opted to delay the road closure until after July 4 to ensure easier access to Roger A. Reynolds Park for Freedom Fest.

Later in the summer and in the fall, construction will continue on a multi-lane roundabout with raised crosswalks at Scioto Darby Road. Landscaping and stormwater management solutions will be added, as well as street lighting, shared-use paths, fiber conduit, and enhanced sidewalk and trail connections to adjacent neighborhoods.
