The City is pleased to welcome Roberta Barkhimer as a new addition to the Transportation and Mobility Department.
Barkhimer will serve as a Transportation Asset Manager, with a focus on leading Hilliard’s new sidewalk maintenance program. Details of the program are outlined in Project T-160 in the City’s Capital Improvement Plan.
The role will be a natural fit for Barkhimer, who most recently worked for the City of Upper Arlington on their sidewalk maintenance and street reconstruction program.
“I’m excited to be able to take a program and work on it from the ground up and see where it takes us,” Barkhimer said. “With my background, I’m confident I can make a positive impact right away. I hope it takes off and that residents will have a better quality of life as a result.”
Barkhimer grew up in Mount Vernon, Ohio and went on to graduate from Ohio Northern University with a degree in Civil Engineering. Her career started in geotechnical engineering, with numerous years of work for construction companies before entering the public sector.
“I’m excited to join this growing team and serve the community where I live,” said Barkhimer, who resides in nearby Galloway. “I have a passion for Transportation and Mobility and I hope to be an invaluable asset to the City of Hilliard and its residents.”
Barkhimer and her husband Jason have four boys who have all attended Hilliard City Schools.
