City hosts guest from Intelligent Community Forum

City officials host Intelligent Community Forum on tour of Hilliard.

Hilliard is an intelligent, tech-savvy community on a global scale.

Earlier this year, the City was named a Top7 Intelligent Community of the Year by the Intelligent Community Forum. The honor distinguishes Hilliard as a model of economic and social transformation in the 21st century and a leader in advocacy, innovation, broadband development, and digital inclusion. ICF acknowledges Hilliard as a world-class community charting new paths to lasting growth and prosperity.

So what’s next? The City is now in the running to earn the distinction of Intelligent Community of the Year, which will be announced in October.

To inform their decision, ICF is touring the Top7 communities and the City was pleased to host Matt Owen, Executive Director of ICF, on a tour of Hilliard this week.

City manager Michelle Crandall and our Economic Development team gave Owen a detailed look at all the City has to offer. The two-day tour included stops at Converge Technologies, Advanced Drainage Systems, CAIR, Hilliard Division of Police, Hilliard City Schools, Hilliard Metropolitan Library, and more!

Thank you ICF for highlighting our growing and innovative community. We’re looking forward to the final results of the Intelligent Community of the Year award next month!

The ICF Top7 Intelligent Communities of 2023 include:

  • Binh Duong Smart City, Vietnam
  • Coral Gables, Florida, USA
  • Curitiba, Parana, Brazil
  • Durham Region, Ontario, Canada
  • Greater Geelong, Victoria, Australia
