Have old TVs, computers, and electronics? It’s that time of year again to clear them out. The City of Hilliard’s annual fall electronic recycling and paper shredding event is back.
Hosted by the Hilliard Environmental Sustainability Commission (ESC), the Fall into Recycling event will be held Friday, Oct. 16 from 9 a.m. to noon in the Public Service Department parking lot at 3790 Municipal Way.
The event will follow the same drive-up system as in years past. Simply pull your car up to the drop-off as directed, and ESC members and staff will unload and dispose of your materials.
The event is free and open to the public, though fees apply to certain electronics.
What materials will be accepted?
Electronics Recycling
Residents can recycle a wide variety of electronics, including computers, TVs, monitors, printers, cell phones, gaming systems, audio and video equipment, and other household electronics. RenTek will be onsite to collect electronics for recycling. Find a full list of accepted items, along with fees for certain electronics.
Paper Shredding
Black Ops Destruction will provide onsite document shredding. Residents are limited to three banker boxes of paper. A standard banker box is approximately 16 inches long, 12 inches wide, and 10.5 inches high.
Styrofoam Collection
Polystyrene, commonly known as Styrofoam, will also be accepted. Items must be clean and free of tape, labels, and stickers. Food containers, plates, cups, egg cartons, and packing peanuts will not be accepted.
