Construction of our newest roundabout is nearly complete!
Crews are entering the final phase of construction of the roundabout at the intersection of Cosgray and Scioto Darby roads, which will provide access to the new Hilliard Recreation and Wellness Campus, The Well.
Beginning Thursday, Oct. 3, the westbound lane of Scioto Darby Road will be closed just west of the Cosgray intersection, in front of the CVS. Traffic headed west will be detoured south on the new Cosgray Road extension to Alton Darby Road, then north back to Scioto Darby Road.
Traffic headed east on Scioto Darby Road will be maintained as usual.
Cosgray Road north from Scioto Darby Road will continue to be closed as we construct the northern leg of the roundabout. Drivers will be detoured up Hayden Run Road to Leppert Road and then back to Scioto Darby Road.
Access to the Darby Town Center remains open at both Cosgray and Scioto Darby entrances; however, cut-through traffic is prohibited.
This work is expected to be completed in about 10 days, weather depending. At that point, the roundabout will be fully open to traffic on Scioto Darby and Cosgray roads!
Looking ahead, work will continue this fall south of the roundabout on the Cosgray Road extension, requiring a re-closure as crews finalize the project. But, the roundabout will not be affected.
The project will include a new crosswalk with flashing beacons to access the Darby Town center businesses, raised crosswalks to slow speeds and increase pedestrian safety, and connection to more than two miles of new trails built within The Well campus.
Landscaping and stormwater management solutions will be added, as well as street lighting, shared-use paths, fiber conduit, and enhanced sidewalk and trail connections to adjacent neighborhoods.
The Well is expected to open in summer 2025.
