Exciting New Programs to Fill Out 2025 Winter Programming

This round of program registration sees the return of familiar favorites as well as the debut of 28 new activities!  With programs ranging from pottery to karate to videogame competitions, there is a program for every type of fun.

Karate Zoo: Jan. 8 – Feb. 12 (Sections 01, 02), March 5 – April 9 (Sections 03, 04)

For kiddos ages 3-4 years old (Sections 01, 03) and 5-6 years old (Sections 02, 04), this high-energy program teaches martial arts fundamentals while focusing on important values like discipline, patience, and respect. By using fun Muscle Zoo characters, these karate skills will be taught in a safe and nurturing environment.

HoopsterTots – Cubs: Jan. 8 – 29 / HoopsterTots – Bears: Jan. 8 – 29

Learning basketball has never been so fun! HoopsterTots – Cubs (ages 2 – 3 ½) and HoopsterTots – Bears (ages 3 – 4 ½) will focus on dribbling, shot technique, passing, and teamwork. Adjustable hoops and appropriately sized basketballs are used to provide just the right amount of challenge. Parent participation is required for ages 2 – 3 ½.

Artistic Explorations: Jan. 8 – Feb. 12

Students ages 9 – 12 will explore their creativity through clay, ceramic painting, ceramic glazing, wood painting, and tie-dying. An experienced artist will lead the group through artistic instruction and students will come back with a variety of beautiful, creative pieces.

Family Bedtime Yoga: Jan. 8, March 12

Help your kiddo start the process of unwinding before bed with this adult and child class. Instruction includes movement poses, breathing techniques, and bedtime stories. Children can even come dressed in their PJs and bring their favorite stuffed animal! All kids must be registered. Adults are free.

Music Together Classes: Jan. 9 – March 13 (Sections 1, 2)

This dynamic experience centers around free-play music and movement with a rich, multicultural curriculum. For kiddos ages 0 – 5 years, each class explores singing, dancing, wiggling, and joy! Materials are included.

Introduction to Hip Hop Dance: Jan. 11 – Feb. 15

This class offers students ages 8 – 12 a fun, nurturing environment to learn the basics of hip hop dance! Explore imagination, self-expression, and group interaction while learning basic hip hop styles and music concepts.

Lil’ Builders Play Group: Jan. 13 – Feb. 3, Feb. 10 – 24, March 10 – 24

This open play group for ages 3 – 5 years is the perfect chance for your kiddo to engage and build with their peers! Kids will explore hands on play using Legos, magic tiles, and other building activities. Parents are required to stay with their child.

Let it Snow Slime Party: Jan 14

Get hands on with some squishy snow slime! Open to kids ages 5 – 11, this event is perfect for slime-lovers, with a frosty twist! All materials, plus hot chocolate, will be provided.

Eager Engineers: Jan. 14 – Feb. 11, Feb. 25 – April 1

This class centers on hands-on learning and building with Lego Duplos and Citiblocs, focusing on problem-solving skills, individuality, and self-confidence while preparing your child for kindergarten. Open to children ages 4 – 6.

Preschool Eager Artists: Jan. 14 – Feb. 11, Feb. 25 – April 1

Help ready your child for kindergarten through art! By breaking down art projects into simple, manageable steps, this class promotes confidence, individuality, and fun. Kids ages 4 – 6 will learn color blending, working with scissors, and reading readiness.

Youth American Sign Language: Jan. 14 – March 4, March 11 – April 29

Students ages 6 – 11 years will be taught the manual alphabet and the fundamentals of American Sign Language. This course includes instruction, lectures, hands-on group activities, frequent opportunities for practice, discussions, and other activities. This course is ideal for students who do not know, or know very little, American Sign Language.

Introduction to AI: Jan. 14 – March 4

Teens ages 13 – 17 will learn the basics of using artificial intelligence in art creation by experimenting with AI tools to produce their own artwork and discussing the implications of AI in the art world. Bring your own laptop.

Playdough Bash Play Group: Jan. 16 – 30, Feb. 6 – 20

Joining our playdough fun is the perfect opportunity for your preschooler, ages 3-5 years, to make new friends and explore their own creativity. Playdough, a snack, and other age-appropriate games will be provided. Parents are required to stay with their child for this program.

Introduction to Electronic Music: Jan. 22 – March 12

Teens ages 13 – 17 will dive into the world of electronic music, where they’ll learn about sound synthesis, get hands-on experience with electronic music gear, and create electronic music compositions. Personal instruments are not required but participants are encouraged to bring them if they wish.

Pottery Wheel 101: Jan. 25 – Feb. 1

Dive into pottery with basic pottery wheel and hand-building techniques! Students ages 9 – 12 will gain great hands-on experience through technical, personal, and individual training.

Family Yoga and Donuts: Jan. 25, Feb. 22, March 22

Start your Saturday with family yoga and donuts! Parents and kiddos will learn yoga, breathing, and meditation together. This class is tailored to kids ages 3 – 8 years, but everyone is welcome. Bring water and wear comfy clothes. Donuts will be available after the program.

NERF Battle: Jan. 31

Join us for an epic NERF battle! Kids ages 5 – 11 can bring their own NERF dart shooter and darts to the Community Center, where they’ll shoot at targets and break into teams for an all-out showdown. Snacks and pizza will be provided, and make sure all personal equipment has your name on it.

Queen of Hearts: Valentine’s Day Card Night: Feb. 14

Calling all card players! Join other teens ages 13 – 17 for a night of card games and fun at the Community Center. Valentine’s treats and pizza will be provided.

Hilliard Rec Camp Winter Reunion: Feb. 15

Missing the fun days of summer? We are too! Join us for a Hilliard Rec Camp reunion for returning campers and new friends alike. Campers ages 6 – 12 will participate in various games, including team building, gym games, arts and crafts, and more. Pizza will be provided.

Cookies and Canvas: Feb. 20

Join us for a night of painting and cookies! Participants ages 5 – 11 can explore their artistic talents while hanging out with friends and enjoying delicious cookies.

Family Pizza and Bingo: Feb. 21

Join us for a night of bingo and pizza at the Community Center! A great opportunity to meet other families, this event is also a fun way to spend a winter evening. Alternate craft activities will be provided for younger children.

Mario Madness Night: Feb. 22

Attention gamers! Join in a night of fun competition with a variety of Switch games, including Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros., and more, and compete for the Mario Kart Madness championship! Teens ages 13 – 17 can bring their own Switch and a couple friends to fill up their team. Pizza will be provided.

Winter Wonderland Snow Globe Making: Feb. 23

Embrace the chilly winter weather with a fun snow globe making activity! Participants ages 5 ½ – 12 years will make a winter snow globe while enjoying some hot cocoa. All supplies will be provided.

St. Patrick’s Day of Fun and Gold Rush Challenge: March 15

Enjoy a fun-filled day of St. Patrick’s Day activities, for kids ages 5 – 11! Take on the gold rush challenge throughout Municipal Park, decorate cookies, and participate in fun themed crafts. This event will be held rain or shine.

Slimetopia 2: Total Slime Takeover (Spring Break Camp): March 31 – April 4

By colossal popular demand comes this squishy, squashy, stretchy sequel to our bestselling Slimetopia camp. This time, the world is being taken over by slime! Campers ages 6 – 11 will group up into STEAM teams to visit different countries across the globe, making a different kind of slime at each destination—from Italian pizza slime to Antarctic penguin slime to Hawaiian lava slime. Please wear clothing that can get messy.

Paint War Party: April 5

Join our afternoon of fun competition and lots of paint in the park! This event is open to kids ages 5 – 11, and snacks and paint supplies will be provided. Make sure to bring a towel or something to put on after the event for your ride home.

Escape Room: April 6

Solve puzzles, crack codes, and uncover hidden clues in this immersive escape room experience! Teens ages 13 – 17 will work together, think creatively, and race against the clock to escape before time runs out. Snacks will be provided.

Glow in the Dark Dodgeball: April 19

Take your dodgeball game to the next level at our glow-in-the-dark dodgeball event, open to kids ages 5 ½ – 11! Snacks and other glow toys will be provided.
