Holiday Cheer Shines Bright in Hilliard: Tree Lighting & Cram the Cruiser

Hilliard is kicking off the holiday season with two beloved traditions that bring neighbors together in the spirit of celebration and giving.

Tree Lighting

The 35th annual Tree Lighting will be held this year on Dec. 7 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Join us in Downtown Hilliard for free, fun festivities and the lighting of the tree! Activities will be held in Hilliard’s Station Park, throughout Downtown Hilliard, and the Historical Village at Weaver Park.

Free parking will be available at the Franklin County Fairgrounds, the lots at Madison and Wayne streets, and at the Makoy Center. Limited handicap parking will be available at the parking lot near Wayne and Center streets.

There will also be a free trolley offered, with stops at the Chase Bank parking lot and at the entrance to the Historical Village.

Activities in the Historical Village include a giant snow globe, letters to Santa and Mrs. Claus, a live reindeer, balloon twisting, a DJ, and more. Activities in Downtown Hilliard include Santa and elves, ice carving, face painting, balloon twisting, horse and carriage rides, fire juggler, and other excitement. Please note lines for activities might close early due to high attendance.

Pro tip: start your experience at the Historical Village! Convenient parking is available at the Franklin County Fairgrounds and there is a shuttle to connect you directly with Downtown. Plus, get the chance to meet a live reindeer!

Road closures for this event will be in place from 3 to 7 p.m.:

  • Main Street from Norwich to Franklin streets
  • Center Street from Main to Columbia streets
  • Franklin Street from Main to Columbia streets
