New Engineering Technician, Michael Rebar, to join City staff

Michael Rebar - Engineering Technician

On Monday, the City welcomed a full-time Engineering Technician, Michael Rebar, to the team.

As an Engineering Technician, Michael will be responsible for managing the City’s right-of-way permits and assisting in the construction and repair of City roadways, sidewalks, trails, utilities, and more, in an engineering capacity.

“I’m really excited to get into the right-of-way inspection and permitting world,” Michael said. “Learn the basics about it and perform it, and really watch Hilliard grow.”

This is not his first interaction with Hilliard as a city. Early in his career, Michael worked as a geotechnical consultant in Dublin, performing field analyses for Amazon’s data center here in Hilliard.
For the last three years, Michael has worked as a municipal consultant for smaller villages, designing everything from storm sewers to roadways.

In his free time, Michael enjoys biking, CrossFit, volunteering at a cat shelter, and playing ice hockey. He is also a fan of the outdoors and traveling.

Welcome to the City, Michael!
