The City of Hilliard has hired Emmy Benson as its new Maintenance Technician.

In this role, Benson will support the Recreation and Parks Department by performing tasks such as landscaping, park maintenance, road and pavement repair, building upkeep, and more.

“Hilliard is an exciting place to be right now with the growth and new community center on the way,” Benson said. “My goal is to continue to make this a great place to live for residents by taking care of all the great things in our parks.”

As a Hilliard native and Hilliard Darby graduate, Benson is quite familiar with this community. She graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2023 with a degree in Sport Management. Benson also has work experience as a groundskeeper at the Golf Club of Dublin.

“Getting to work for the City of Hilliard is a full circle moment for me,” Benson said. “I used to play in these parks growing up and now I get to work here and serve my hometown community, it’s a great feeling.”

Benson is an outdoor enthusiast and stays active in her free time with hiking and playing with her corgi Beckett. She’s also a big football fan and loves to root on her favorite teams, the Ohio State Buckeyes and New England Patriots.
