The Well is set to open its doors, and you are invited!
Mark your calendar for Thursday, Sept. 18, for a grand opening celebration to experience the Hilliard Recreation & Wellness Center, located at 3993 Cosgray Road.

Founding memberships to The Well are still available for purchase, from now until the grand opening. Founding memberships give Hilliard residents and those who work in the City full annual membership along with extra benefits that include invitation-only programs, discounts on merchandise, annual renewal benefits, and more.
Prior to the grand opening, founding members will get a chance to experience The Well before anyone else during soft opening events highlighting various parts of the facility.
At the grand opening, founding members can enter for a chance to win a free, yearlong membership at an exclusive raffle drawing.

The history of The Well
On Nov. 2, 2021, Hilliard residents approved Issue 22, an additional 0.5% municipal income tax, paid by individuals who work in the City of Hilliard corporate boundaries (regardless of whether they live here).
The additional revenue is dedicated to recreation and parks, including design, construction, and operation of the new community center comparable to those in neighboring communities.
Through 2022, the City held public feedback forums, developed a detailed concept plan and design of the new community center, and started the Cosgray Road Extension.
In 2023, the City officially turned onto the Road to Recreation with the groundbreaking and start of construction at The Well site. As the framework of the building began to form, the City held Community Input Sessions to get the public’s advice on the programs and activities they would like to see inside The Well.
In 2024 and early 2025, the City announced The Well’s amenities, membership information, and debuted its Founding Membership program.
The Hilliard Athletic Complex, part of The Well’s campus, officially opened in April 2025, bringing us one step closer to completion. The athletic complex is home to two state-of-the-art turf fields, over 20 natural grass fields, and over three miles of multipurpose paths around the site.
Finally, the recent additions of the official sign on The Well’s façade and, of course, the leisure pool slide showed us that the wait is soon to be over!
As we near the home stretch, we are excited to share The Well space with two community partners, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Alchemy Brands. The satellite medical center will offer clinical services, including physical therapy and behavioral health, as well as programming. Alchemy Brands will open a new café location, bringing wellness-based food and drink to the Hilliard community.
