Maintenance Technician Bill Walton retires Jan. 31 after 23 years with the City of Hilliard.
Snow removal, utility locating, and vehicle maintenance are all tasks Walton has worked on throughout his years with the City, but the majority of his time was spent on electrical work. Known as the “signal technician,” Walton has been first to the scene to fix broken traffic lights, school signs, and cameras.

“If it has anything to do with a wire in the City of Hilliard, I have probably worked on it,” Walton said.

When asked what projects stand out to him throughout his 23 years with the City, Walton said decorating Weaver Park with handmade strings of lights for the holidays was one that he took pride in.

Best wishes on your retirement, Bill!
