No Injuries Reported from Overnight Storm

No injuries were reported, but one Hilliard house was destroyed and several other homes experienced extensive damage early this morning from last night’s storm.

City of Hilliard responded with police and clean-up personnel and Norwich Township responded with Fire Department personnel.

Hilliard Police Chief Mike Woods reported that one house on Hilliard Rome Road north of Roberts Road was completely destroyed. Two houses in Hilliard on Oldwynne Road and three houses in Columbus suffered significant damage.

Police expected roads in the area to reopen soon.

“While property damage of this scale is always tragic, we were fortunate in that no one was injured or killed,” Woods said.

It is unknown at this time if the damage was due to a tornado.
