The City of Hilliard Division of Police welcomed three new police officers. Andrew Bell, Zachary Jones, and Samuel Chrysler were sworn into office April 22.
“Getting to this point wasn’t easy, and it shouldn’t be,” said Chief of Police Michael Woods. “The responsibilities and expectations bestowed on an officer are great, and we need to know those who wear the HPD badge have the character to meet those expectations and can accept the responsibilities of this profession.”
Bell grew up in Hilliard and attended Hilliard Bradley High School. He is currently a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps and this week is graduating from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and criminology.
Jones, originally from Marengo, Ohio, is a Hilliard resident. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Norwich University and currently serves in the Ohio Army National Guard.
Chrysler grew up in Hilliard and graduated from Shekinah Christian School. He’s a member of the Ohio Army National Guard and currently pursuing a degree in criminal justice from Columbus State Community College.
These three will enter the Westerville Police Department Academy.
