Freedom Fest is the City of Hilliard’s free annual event that celebrates Independence Day with nationally known artists Big & Rich, Alexis Gomez, and Harper Grace. Attendees enjoy food trucks, swimming, a Kid Zone, concerts and a spectacular fireworks show at dusk. Spend the day with us at Municipal Park and ring in freedom with the City of Hilliard!

Entertainment

During Freedom Fest, the main stage will have entertainment beginning at 5:15 p.m. Admission to these concerts is free and tickets are not required for musical entertainment.

To keep things safe and fun, please follow these guidelines.

  • Seating is first come, first served.
  • Set up of personal items ( e.g., chairs, blankets, etc.) that are not part of the prohibited list may be used to reserve a seating area.
  • Personal items may be set up beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 4.

National Anthem

The National Anthem will be performed by Hilliard Davidson High School student Cinna Carter.

Kid Zone

Kids will have a blast at Freedom Fest with SuperGames. They’ll have plenty of activities for the kids, ages pre-school and older, to play from 5 – 9 p.m. The weight limit for the games is 250 pounds.

A Kid Zone wristband will be required to participate in activities. Wristband pre-sale goes through July 1 at the Community Center, 3800 Veterans Memorial Drive. Only credit and checks are accepted during pre-sale. Cost is $8 per wristband during pre-sale.

A limited number of wristbands can be purchased during Freedom Fest with cash only for $10 starting at 4 p.m. ATMs will be available near the Kid Zone.

All wristbands are non-refundable.

Food Trucks

Enjoy delicious food from many food trucks at Freedom Fest. The food trucks and Grandad’s Pizza will be available from 3 – 11 p.m. To learn about all the food trucks coming to Freedom Fest, visit the Street Food Finder page. Safety / Park Rules

Our goal for Freedom Fest is to have a fun, engaging, and safe event for our community. To ensure the safety of our residents, the following are not allowed at the park.

  • Alcohol
  • Beach umbrellas
  • Drones
  • Glass bottles
  • Personal fireworks
  • Pets

Parking and Transportation

Limited parking will be available at the park in designated areas. Handicap parking will be available near baseball fields 5-8 until full. Festival-goers can also park at Heritage Middle School and Hilliard Darby High School.

A shuttle service will be available from the Franklin County Fairgrounds. Shuttles will run from 6 – 11 p.m. during Freedom Fest and take attendees to the rear of Heritage Middle School.

The HOSA parking lot is closed.

As you leave the park after the fireworks, keep in mind that Scioto Darby Road will be shut down from Main Street to Leppert Road at 9:30 p.m. to keep traffic flowing. Cars leaving the park at Bradford Drive will only be able to turn right (east) on Scioto Darby Road. Cars leaving Heritage Middle School will exit at Darby High School and all traffic can only travel north on Leppert Road.

Weather

In the case of severe weather, Freedom Fest will be canceled. Fireworks will go off the following day, but there will be no entertainment. All wristbands purchased for Freedom Fest are non-refundable.

Franklin County Agriculture Society's Independence Day Parade

Thursday, July 4

The Franklin County Agriculture Society’s 4th of July Parade will take place on Thursday, July 4, this year. The parade starts at 9 a.m. at the Franklin County Fairgrounds, with a new route. From the fairgrounds it will head south down Main Street, continue east on Cemetery Road, north on Norwich Street, then north on Columbia Street and end at the Franklin County Fairgrounds. Register to join the parade.
