The Planning Division works with citizens, business owners, and community leaders to regulate the City’s zoning and property maintenance code to meet the City’s master and development plans.
The Planning Division completes the development process by responding to proposals and working with developers and residents.
The Planning Division prepares staff reports concerning development applications and presents to the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals, and occasionally attends Council meetings to discuss zoning and development proposals.
Contact the Planning Division for zoning certificate applications, new development applications, property inspections, sign and fence permits, or to report a zoning violation. Residents can also access the OpenGov portal for various Planning Division forms, permits, and applications.
Residents should be aware of phishing emails in which scammers impersonate City officials and request payment for planning or zoning permits. Please remember that all City planning and zoning application fees are paid securely through the OpenGov portal using the application you created and submitted. The City will not email you an unexpected invoice for an application you did not initiate.
