Three new police officers were sworn into the Hilliard Division of Police on Monday. The oath of office was administered by Chief of Police Eric Grile.
Officers James Bass, Danielle Epperhart and Jonathon Kane will enroll into the Columbus Police Academy, where they will spend the next 28 weeks learning police operations.
They are expected to graduate in winter 2022 and will then complete a 15-week field training program with a certified training officer.
โWeโre excited to welcome these three exceptional recruits to the HPD family,โ said Chief Grile. โThey went through a competitive process to be selected among a group of highly-qualified candidates, and we look forward to welcoming them to an incredibly rewarding line of work.โ
Kane is a Hilliard native and 2018 graduate of Darby High School and was a member of HPDโs Explorerโs program for five years. He currently serves in the Ohio National Guard.
Bass is from central Ohio and earned a bachelorโs degree from Wittenberg University.
Epperhart has served as a support services clerk for HPD since 2018 and earned a bachelorโs degree from West Virginia University.
