The City of Hilliard has hired Nick Vandia as a Transportation Project Engineer in the Transportation and Mobility Department.

Vandia will manage Capital Improvement Projects for street, intersection, and pedestrian and bicycle improvements. He brings in nearly 10 years of experience in the engineering field, previously working for American Structurepoint and Hull & Associates, Inc. as a Project Manager. He also served as an Engineering Intern for the Ohio Department of Transportation.

“This is a really good fit for me based on my design background and consultant work,” Vandia said. “I’ve lived in Hilliard for much of my life, so it will also be a great experience to serve my own community.”

Vandia graduated from Dublin Jerome High School and went on to earn his engineering degree from The Ohio State University. He currently lives in Hilliard with his girlfriend and two dogs.

“It’s very exciting to work for a city that’s growing like Hilliard,” Vandia said. “I love roundabouts, that’s what I’ve designed and worked on my whole career, so it’s exciting to work on projects that come from the growth.”

Vandia’s work will also include project development, managing consultant contracts for design, and coordinating with other public agencies on transportation projects.
