Hilliard City Council has given its stamp of approval on legislation funding construction of a state-of-the-art medical, health and wellness center managed by The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center at The Well.

This strategic collaboration between the City of Hilliard and the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center aims to enhance community health and well-being by adding a broad slate of dedicated services in a leased portion of the City’s future recreation and wellness center.

“The integration of medical services and educational programming within The Well reinforces our commitment to fostering a holistic approach to health and wellness for our residents,” said Hilliard City Manager Michelle Crandall. “This facility will provide convenient access to high quality care right here in Hilliard.”

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center will lease the 25,000-square-foot space within The Well.

The new location for the medical center will offer a wide range of wellness, education and clinical services, along with other community programming and classes. Specific services will include physical therapy, urgent care, orthopedic and sports medicine providers, arthritis care, behavioral health, acupuncture, chiropractic care, therapeutic massage, nutrition counseling, osteopathic manipulative therapy, and lifestyle medicine.

“Collaborating on this health and wellness project with the City of Hilliard allows the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center to provide residents greater access to high-quality care while expanding and strengthening our existing connections,” said Dan Like, chief administrative officer of Ambulatory Services for the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. “We look forward to serving the health and wellness needs of the Hilliard community.”

The Well is under construction on parkland west of Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park, near the intersection of Scioto Darby and Alton Darby roads. It is set to open in 2025. More information about the project can be found on the City’s website.

“Our collaboration with Ohio State Wexner Medical Center marks an exciting milestone for Hilliard,” said Crandall. “We are thrilled to bring top-notch medical services closer to home, fostering a healthier and more vibrant Hilliard for all our residents.”
