ADS Joining TruePointe as Anchor Tenant

Advanced Drainage Systems is moving its headquarters to the new TruePointe development in Hilliard.

Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc. (ADS), a corporate leader in managing and protecting water and one of the largest plastic recycling companies in North America, has announced it will move its headquarters to the transformational TruePointe development in Hilliard, Ohio, near the company’s existing headquarters.

As TruePointe’s anchor tenant, ADS will bring its corporate employees together in a new and innovative mixed-use development to foster collaboration and improve efficiency and performance as the company continues to grow in Ohio and beyond.

“Our new headquarters will accelerate ADS’ growth, as well as the development of products designed to capture, convey, store and treat our most precious resource: water,” said ADS President and CEO Scott Barbour. “In consolidating our corporate headquarters at TruePointe, and with the ADS Engineering and Technology Center nearby, our commitment to the City of Hilliard and Ohio continues. We have been proud to call Hilliard home for two decades, and we thank the City, as well as One Columbus, JobsOhio and Gov. Mike DeWine’s administration for continuing to encourage economic development across the state and central Ohio region.”

ADS, which currently houses its corporate employees across two separate locations in Hilliard, will now come together in a single international headquarters boasting cutting-edge technology and collaborative spaces in a new and exciting neighborhood. The company was drawn to the mixed-use environment being created at TruePointe with office buildings like its own, multifamily residential apartments, a hotel, unique restaurants and shops, as well as walking trails, a lake and dog park. Ultimately, the timing, economics and social benefit of the TruePointe development will accomplish the ADS goal of bringing people together in a productive work environment for now and into the future.

“We are thrilled that ADS, a staple in Hilliard for so long, will become the first anchor tenant in this transformative new space,” said Steve Wathen, the CEO of Equity, another Hilliard-based firm that is developing the project. “The company’s history of innovation, as well as its ability to continue as an economic engine for the city and state, makes it a perfect fit for TruePointe, the city’s first true live-work-play mixed-use development. We’re excited to work with ADS to create a space where they can succeed and grow for the future.”

The new ADS headquarters at TruePointe will also demonstrate the company’s commitment to water and sustainability, with LEED Silver certification and will follow WELL Building Standards, which focus on multiple aspects of environmental and employee health, including air and water, fitness, nourishment, comfort and others. ADS pipe and chambers, alongside a pond, will also manage stormwater runoff for the entire development. The company is developing the rainwater capture and reuse system for its new headquarters office building as well.

And as the first anchor tenant at TruePointe, the ADS brand and products will extend throughout the site, including its distinctive green stripe and brand colors, and ADS pipe and Stormtech basins included as features in the dog park.

Finally, ADS continues construction of its nearly 110,000-square-foot ADS Engineering and Technology Center at a 17-acre site at Lyman Drive and the soon-to-be constructed Raindrop Way in Hilliard. That facility, which will be the most advanced stormwater engineering center in the world, is expected to open in mid-2024.

“Adding ADS to TruePointe demonstrates how multiuse developments can draw companies to locations that offer a unique setting and amenities to employers and their employees,” said Hilliard City Manager Michelle Crandall. “ADS is an ideal corporate citizen in Hilliard as a top employer, leader in sustainability and water management, and a key community partner. We look forward to supporting the company’s growth over the coming years.”

It is expected that the first TruePointe buildings will open in early 2025 and ADS plans to move in that year.
