Two City of Hilliard Division of Police employees were recently recognized as the Employees of the Year for their exceptional efforts serving the community.
Officer Luke White and Intelligence Support Analyst Nicole Lemaster were nominated for recognition by their co-workers.
Officer White was first a member of Hilliard’s Explorer Post 2286 as a high school student. He was sworn in as a police officer in 2019 and quickly distinguished himself as a leader, according to Chief Michael Woods.
He has served as a patrol officer, field training officer, and a member of the bike unit. He now serves as an advisor to the Explorer’s unit.
His coworkers called him “a well-rounded officer who is always willing to assist and highly regarded by his peers,” commending his positive attitude.
“Fellow officers frequently seek him out for advice, guidance, and assistance,” one nominator said.
Officer White is a graduate of Hilliard Darby High School.
Lemaster, who joined HPD in 2024, has quickly demonstrated value to the community. In her position, LeMaster works closely with officers to ensure efficient and thorough investigations, identifying crime patterns generating crime reports, among other tasks.
Her coworkers called her “a proven asset” who does “exceptional work that enhances the effectiveness of the division.”
Prior to joining HPD, Lemaster spent seven years in the U.S. Navy as an intelligence specialist.
Lt. Tyler Harris received the Chief’s Award for his work establishing a district-wide Threat Assessment and Threat Management Team focused on early identification, intervention, and support for students in crisis long before situations escalate.
This recognition highlights proactive prevention, strong partnerships, and a shared commitment to keeping schools safe.
